(SUDBURY, ON) – On the evening of March 22, 2014, OPP officers were conducting radar patrols on Highway 69.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a northbound vehicle for speeding on Highway 69 at Highway 637, Servos Township but the driver refused to stop and fled from police at a high rate of speed.
The suspect continued driving northbound in an erratic manner while fleeing from police and reaching speeds of up to 180 km/hr.
A spike belt was deployed on Highway 69 at Whipporwill Avenue, City of Greater Sudbury which was effective and the vehicle subsequently came to a stop and the driver was arrested.
The male driver, Guy Ernest SEGUIN, age 48 of Sudbury is charged with:
Flight While Pursued by Police Officer
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
Drive While Disqualified
He was held in custody for a bail hearing this morning.
