Fire Meeting & Poll: Thunderous Applause For Resignations and New Election!

At the fire service meeting, someone suggested that a referendum be held, on whether or not to proceed with the new fire halls, and if the mass majority were opposed, then council should resign. This was met with thunderous applause, and a few whistles. While this may seem extreme to some, it is not. If it can be proven that a council has not been representing the constituents they are paid to represent, shouldn’t that be cause for their dismissal? As we have stated many times in the past, council’s duty is to execute the will of the people, in a timely and cost effective manner. Both Morris-Turnberry and North Huron councils have been caught ignoring the mass majority, and simply doing as they wish.

We are clearly not living in a Democracy. This is has been a recurring theme in the rants on WFP over the years. Every time Neil Vincent banged his gavel to oppress someone, Democracy died a little. When council tried to eliminate Press and Public Gallery questions at council meetings, Democracy died a little. When Bailey was gagged by council, Democracy died a little. When they abandoned the Code of Conduct”
