(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County detachment continues to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision on Old Hwy #24 south of Concession Road #7, Waterford, Norfolk County, ON.
On Tuesday January 28th, 2014 at approximately 1:40 pm a blue 2002 Ford car being operated by 42 year old Sharon MITCHELL of Brantford, ON was travelling northbound on Old Hwy #24 when for unknown reasons it crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck 53 year old Michael HOLOWATYJ and his passenger 28 year old Michael HOLOWATYJ both of Norfolk County, ON sustained non – life threatening injuries and were transported by Norfolk County Paramedics to a Simcoe, ON hospital for treatment.
Ms. Mitchell was pronounced deceased at the scene by the attending Coroner.
Members of Norfolk County Fire and Rescue, Waterford Station attended the scene and assisted with the injured.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
Old Hwy #24 at Concession Road #7 will be closed for approximately 4 hours to allow for investigation.
A post mortem examination is to be completed today Wednesday January 29th, 2014 to determine the cause of death.
