(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Ramara Township.
On August 5, 2014 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Orillia OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 169 between Brooks Side Road and Fairgrounds Road in Ramara Township. On arrival at scene officers found two pickup trucks that had been involved in a head on collision.
The driver of one of the pickups was transported to Soldiers Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the second pickup was airlifted from the scene to a Toronto hospital.
Ira DAVY, 78 years old of Rama First Nation, was pronounced deceased at Soldiers Memorial Hospital.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TTCI) attended the scene of the collision and is currently investigating.
