(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Red Lake man with Mischief following a report of a man lying on the side of Highway 17 east of Kenora.
On Tuesday August 5, 2014 at around 8:30 am, OPP members attended the area of Highway 17 East near the Jones Road. While en route to the call, police were advised that a man was in the same area throwing rocks at passing vehicles. The description matched the earlier report of the subject lying on the highway.
The OPP located a male fitting the description and upon approaching him, he picked up a rock and damaged the police vehicle. The subject was arrested and taken into custody.
As a result of this investigation, 62 year old Larry ZAIKOW of Red Lake has been charged with Mischief Under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code (CC). He is to appear in Kenora Court on August 28 to answer to the charge.
