(CALEDON, ON) – On July 20th, 2015 at 5:30 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Caledon Fire Service and EMS were called to investigate a head on collision which occurred on Highway 9 between Airport Road and Humber Station Road.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a westbound Chevrolet crossed the centre line and struck the occupants of an eastbound Pontiac. At the time of the collision, the driver of the Pontiac was transported to a trauma center.
On July 26th, 2015 the driver of the Pontiac, Thomas Edward Simpson, 88, from Caledon succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is still on-going.
