(TILLSONBURG, ON.) On July 19, 2014 an Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a motorcycle travelling at an extremely high rate of speed Rokeby Side Road, Tillsonburg
Police observed the motorcycle travelling between speeds of 139km/h and 149km/h in a posted 50km/h zone. Based on the observations and investigative steps taken by police, the driver, a 31 year old male of Courtland has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
Abe EPP has been charged with:
Race a motor vehicle
Drive motor vehicle – improper licence
The vehicle has been impounded for the prescribed 7-day period and his driver’s license is suspended for 7 days.
Drivers who engage in high risk driving behavior put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it difficult for drivers and pedestrians to react to changes, stop suddenly and control a vehicle. In the case of a collision, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injuries or death will occur.
OPP would like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling.
