(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On the 21ST of July 2014 at approx. 9am, officers from the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended the intersection of County Road 40 and County Road 2 for a two vehicle collision that was blocking traffic.
A 2002 Honda Civic traveling southbound on County road 40 was attempting to make a left turn onto County road 2 when it was struck by a concrete truck traveling northbound on County road 40. Both vehicles had lone occupants. The Honda sustained substantial damage estimated at approx. $5000. The concrete truck suffered minimal damage to a bumper.
County road 40 was closed for a short period of time to remove the damaged vehicle. There were no injuries involved in the collision.
The driver of the Honda, a 20year old Warkworth man was charged with making an improper left hand turn.
