(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 24, 2014 at approximately 4:40 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Jones Baseline at Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police spoke with the driver of a grey Hyundai that entered into the check point and immediately detected the strong odour of fresh marihuana coming from inside the motor vehicle. Officers seized a quantity of a green leafy substance believed to be bud marihuana.
David Harkins age 43 of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 27, 2015 to answer to the charge.
