Darryl ALLEN – Drive While Suspended, Resist, etc. etc. etc.

(Bancroft, Ontario) – Shortly after 1:30 A.M. on the 28th of day of October 2015, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) observed a vehicle with an expired validation sticker on its licence plate, driving in downtown Bancroft. Officers followed the vehicle to a public parking lot, where it came to a stop.

Police spoke with the male driver, who had attempted to change seats with the passenger in the vehicle. Police determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol. Police attempted to arrest the driver, who resisted police. He was eventually taken into custody, and a search incident to arrest produced a quantity of marijuana that had been in possession of the driver. The driver was taken to the Bancroft O.P.P. Detachment, where he refused to provide a breath sample to officers to determine the level of alcohol in his blood.

Charged with Driving while Licence Suspended; Drive Vehicle with No Valid Permit; Fail to Provide Proof of Insurance; Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor; Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marijuana); Resist Arrest and Refuse to Provide Breath Sample is 33 year old Darryl ALLEN of Bancroft. He was released on a Promise to Appear Notice, and given a First Appearance Date of the 8th of December 2015, in Bancroft Court.
