(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On April 1, 2017, at approximately 5:55 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highbury Avenue North, near Nine Mile Road.
Officers determined that the 44-year-old male driver of the blue Dodge sport utility vehicle (SUV) had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Daniel PHILLIPS, from St. Thomas, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and careless driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on May 17, 2017.
