Daniel DUCHESNEAU – Dangerous Driving, Impaired Driving

(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male with several offences after coming across a disturbance in Collingwood.

At approximately 11:40pm on the 21st of February 2014, an officer was on patrols and came across a disturbance on Tenth Street in Collingwood. The investigation revealed that a male was attempting to drive away from a residence, possibly under the influence of alcohol, and in doing so collided with a parked vehicle on the street and inflicted minor injuries to someone who was trying to prevent him from driving away. It was at this point that the officer arrived on scene. The male driver was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.

Charged is 24 year-old Daniel DUCHESNEAU of Clearview Township, he is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while ability impaired, fail/refuse to provide sample and assault with a weapon. He was also charged with a Highway Traffic Act violation of driving while under suspension. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 18th of March 2014.
