Charges Laid For Illegal Gaming

(OTTAWA, ON) – On June 12, 2015, at approximately 10:00 PM, Project Rideau River, led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Organized Crime Section conducted a search warrant at a residence on Snowdon Street, Ottawa.

The investigation focused on an organization keeping a common gaming house in the Ottawa area. Officers seized marihuana, cocaine, oxycodone hash, morphine and a quantity of cash.

As a result, 11 people were arrested and charged:

1. Darrin COOPER, 49 of Ottawa with:

· Owner Permit Common Gaming House

· Keep Common Gaming House

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana)

2. Derek COOPER, 38 of Ottawa with:

· Owner Permit Common Gaming House

· Keep Common Gaming House

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana)

3. Tommy MASSIE, 47 of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine)

4. Gavin CURRIE, 43, of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana)

5. Deborah BOURQUE, 59, of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

6. Metkel KUBROM, 36, of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

7. Pierre HADDAD, 39, of Gloucester with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana)

8. David HILL, 49, of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana)

9. Aaron GUERTIN, 38 of Ottawa with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana and Cocaine)

10. Donnie MASON,38, of Orleans with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana)

11. Provincial Constable Dennis HILL, 38 of Ottawa, a 14-year member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and presently on leave, is charged with:

· Found in Common Gaming House

· Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine)

All those charged were released on a Promise to Appear or Appear Notice to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa in July 2015.
