(ERIN TWP.,ON) – On June 12, 2015 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a two vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road between Wellington County Road 50 and Wellington County Road 42 in Erin Township.
The driver of a Honda Civic, Janice BYE age 47 of Holstein was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two passengers, Alexa BYE age 18 of Holstein and Meghan CULVER age 18 of Hanover were transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. They were both later transported to Hamilton General and are in critical condition but stable condition.
The driver of a Volkswagen Jetta, Michael CANAVAN age 47 of Erin has been charged with Impaired Driving Cause Death, Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm x 2 and Drive Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries and held for an audio bail hearing.
