(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On August 9, 2014, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401.
Just after 12:00 p.m., the officer observed a westbound Dodge Caravan that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 171 km/hr. The officer stopped the vehicle near Communication Road.
The 35 year old male driver from Scarborough, has been charged with racing a motor vehicle. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
