(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police, County of Brant detachment has concluded the barricaded person incident at the Maple Avenue (Av), Burford, County of Brant, ON address.
On Monday January 25th, 2016 at approximately 9:15 am Police were called to the Maple Av address to deal with a distraught young male. As a result OPP resources that involve the Tactical Rescue Unit, Negotiators, Canine, Emergency Response Team (ERT) have been deployed to the scene and are working toward a peaceful and safe resolution.
On Tuesday January 26th, 2016 at approximately 12:20 am the young male was taken into custody without injury. He was taken to hospital for a medical evaluation.
The youth identified as a 16 year old County of Brant male is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon and Assault. He will appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, ON at a later date.
