(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – Today at approximately 4:07 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a residential structure fire at a home located on Union Street in Fergus, Centre Wellington Township.
Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Department extinguished the fire. A 65-year-old woman was located in the home and transported to a local hospital by Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in serious condition.
Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, Wellington County OPP uniform officers, West Region OPP Forensic Identification Services along with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating this incident.
Union Street remains closed from Gowrie Street to the entrance of the hospital.
