(RED LAKE, ON) – Officers of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an adult female driver with impaired driving on October 31, 2015 at 1:57 a.m.
During routine patrol, officers stopped a 2014 motor vehicle on Forestry road in Red Lake for a minor traffic violation. As officers were speaking with the driver they had a suspicion of alcohol. The driver was administered an Approved Screening Device (ASD). Failing the roadside device the driver was arrested and transported to the Red Lake Detachment for tests.
Ashley BOUTILIER, age 29, of Red Lake, Ontario, is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code and Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code .
BOUTILIER was released on a Promise to Appear in Red Lake Court on the 10th of December, 2015. The vehicle was impounded for a minimum of 7 days and she was issued a mandatory drivers licence suspension.
The OPP reminds motorists that operating a vehicle under the influence of any amount of alcohol is dangerous and jeopardizes your own safety as well as the safety of others.
