(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On May 12, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.
At 1:44 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Causley Street with an expired validation sticker. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the vehicle was found not to be insured.
Andrew David CROFT, 18 years of age, from Mattawa, Ontario, was charged with:
Motor Vehicle –No Currently Validated Permit, contrary to section 7(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act; and
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway –No Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 6, 2016.
