In order to remove one of the heavily damaged transport trucks still in the ditch after yesterday’s weather event, a closure of the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 will occur overnight tonight.
Starting at 12:30 AM on Friday morning, the eastbound lanes will be closed between Deseronto Road (mile marker #570) and Highway #41 (mile marker #579).
Traffic will be re-routed along the Emergency Detour Route (EDR) for the duration of the closure. It is believed that the highway will only be closed for about 2 hours.
