(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 31, 2015, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Highway 401 near Harwich Road.
Just after 11:30 a.m., the officer observed an eastbound Mercedes car that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. It was determined that the car was traveling at a speed of approximately 220 km/hr.
The 47 year old female driver, from Tecumseh, has been charged with racing. Her driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
