(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On September 25, 2016 at approximately 4:57 a.m. Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Sweaburg Road, north of Horn Road in Norwich Township.
Investigation revealed that a pick-up truck had been travelling southbound on Sweaburg Road when it left the roadway rolling several times before coming to rest in the east ditch.
The 19-year-old male driver was ejected from the vehicle and located a short distance away. The male was transported by Oxford County Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital with serious injuries.
As a result of investigation, Justin ELMS of Norwich Township was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the following:
Young driver – Blood Alcohol Content above zero
Careless driving
Fail to properly wear seatbelt
The male also received a 3 day driver’s licence suspension.
