Repeat Offender Arrested After Multiple Home Invasions

On December 30, 2020, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft team completed an investigation into two residential break and enters that occurred in Waterloo during the month of December. On December 6, 2020, the suspect allegedly entered an apartment building located on Albert Street in Waterloo and made entry through an insecure front door while the victims were asleep.

The suspect stole personal identity documents, cash, and electronics. On December 16, 2020, the suspect allegedly cut the lock to the rear door of an apartment building on Hemlock Street in Waterloo and forced entry to a unit while the residents were sleeping. The suspect then stole numerous items including electronics and clothing. He later returned to the unit to retrieve property and was confronted by the homeowners. On December 30, 2020, a 39-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged in connection to the investigation. He has been charged with several offences, including two counts of break and enter, possession/use stolen credit card, and breach of probation. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.
