As you may already know, a North Huron Councillor has offered their resignation. This vacant seat will mean one ward is not equally represented, unless the seat is filled.
If you are a resident of the affected ward, you are probably eligible for the position. WFP will support any candidate that is for lowering crime, and reducing our residential tax rate to be competitive with the rest of Ontario.
Councillors get approximately $12,000 to $13,000 per year, and should attend two council meetings a month. If you are interested in being a North Huron Councillor, you are encouraged to start attending Council meetings as a public gallery member. You are also encouraged to read the Agenda Package before each meeting.
WFP does not know if Council will fill the seat, or if they can leave it vacant.
