WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP KEPT BUSY WITH LLA CHARGES

(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were kept busy over the weekend with numerous individuals being charged under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

26 LLA tickets were issued between July 22, 2014 and July 24, 2014. Offences were found as a result of R.I.D.E checks, traffic stops, proactive marine patrol and public complaints. Several of the infractions involved the individuals having liquor in open containers in other than licences premise, residence or private places. Wellington County OPP also charged several individuals in relation to having open liquor in a vehicle as well as open liquor on a boat.

With the long weekend approaching Wellington County OPP would like to remind everyone to drink responsibly and plan ahead. Officers will be conducting R.I.D.E checks throughout the county as well as conducting marine patrol.
