(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 130 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.
There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions and impaired drivers.
On April 15, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP conducted a traffic stop on Westmount Drive North in the City of Orillia. The driver of the vehicle was arrested after failing a road side breath test.
Calvin WHITTAKER, 23 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on May 3, 2016.
On April 15, 2016 at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers attended a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Front Street South and Gill Street in the City of Orillia. When they arrived at the scene they located a vehicle that had struck a light standard. The driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Harley JOHNSON, 20 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Driving and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on May 24, 2016.
On April 16, 2016 at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP conducted a traffic stop on Front Street South in the City of Orillia. The driver of the vehicle was arrested after failing a road side breath test.
Changsu YOON, 51 years old of Richmond Hill, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Provide Sample Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on May 3, 2016.
On April 17, 2016 at approximately 8:35 p.m., Orillia OPP officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver on Coldwater Street East in the City of Orillia. When officers arrived at scene they located a vehicle in a live lane with the female driver passed out behind the wheel. She was arrested at the scene.
Heather VIVIAN, 38 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Care or Control While Impaired by Alcohol and Care or Control Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. She was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on May 3, 2016.
