WEEKEND UPDATE FROM ORILLIA OPP

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the past weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 155 calls for service. Police respond to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, 911 hang-ups, motor vehicle collisions, domestic/family disputes, marine complaints, theft complaints and Liquor Licence Act complaints.

On August 25, 2013 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Orillia OPP stopped a vehicle on Atherley Road for speeding. The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 135 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The male driver of the vehicle, 31 years old from Orillia, was charged with Stunt Driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario and he had his vehicle impounded for seven days.

On August 25, 2013 at approximately 2:10 a.m., Orillia OPP responded to the report of a possible impaired driver on Shannon Street in Orillia. When officers arrived they located a vehicle at a nearby residence.

Cortney KRUEGER, 30 years old from Orillia, was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 milligrams Blood Alcohol Content. She was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia on September 17, 2013.
