(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) -On April 18, 2014 at approximately 10:58 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a southbound motor vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and on Wellington Road 7, Centre Wellington near Elora. The 2004 Honda was observed in an 80 km/h zone and about to enter a 50 km/h zone. The officer followed the vehicle and measured a speed of 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Walter MULKEWICH age 74 of Burlington is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Court on May 21, 2014 to answer to the charge.
