Vehicle Stop Results in Impaired Driving Charges

On Saturday June 28th, 2014 at approximately 10:30pm, Peterborough County OPP was patrolling Highway 7 near Highway 28 in the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan when they stopped a westbound motor vehicle.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, Christopher Thornington; 34 years of age of Peterborough, Ontario was charged with the following:

Section 253(1) (a) Criminal Code of Canada – “Impaired Driving”

Section 253(1) (b) Criminal Code of Canada – “Over 80 Mgs.”

Mr. Thornton is to appear at Peterborough Provincial Court on August 14th, 2014.
