(Cavan-Monaghan Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a serious collision just after 4:00am on Sunday morning. The collision itself was unwitnessed; however evidence at the scene suggests that the vehicle rolled several times before striking a tree.
OPP members from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit searched the area but were unable to locate the driver. Police continued to search the area as a part of their investigation and ultimately located the remains of the involved driver.
The deceased was identified as: Joseph EVERSON (age 61) of Brock Township, Ontario. A post mortem examination of the deceased is scheduled for later today as OPP officers continue their investigation.
