(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On April 16, 2014, just before 2:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a Ford car on Highway 40 at Electric Line.
While officers were speaking with the driver, 27 year old Valerie GAJDA, from Windsor, ON, it was determined that she had been consuming alcoholic beverages.
Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and she will appear in a Chatham court on May 9, 2014, to answer to the charge of Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
Chatham-Kent OPP would like to remind drivers that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. If you consume alcoholic beverages, plan for a safe ride home by using a designated driver, a taxi or public transit to ensure that you and others sharing the road arrive safely.
