UNLICENCED DRIVER CHARGED

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A local male faces two charges after the vehicle he was driving was stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

On January 3, 2014 an OPP officer was on patrol on Kent Street West when a vehicle with an expired validation tag was observed. Subsequently, the officer stopped the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the driver’s licence had expired and that there was no valid insurance card for the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation Ryan WILBEE, 30 years of age, of Fenelon Falls was charged with driving with no licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and failing to surrender insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
