Two Vehicle Collision Closes Hwy 24

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has closed Highway24 between Elliott Road and Oakland Road after responding to a two vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 28, 2016.

Investigation revealed that a southbound vehicle crossed the centre line colliding with a northbound vehicle on Highway 24, North of Oakland Road.

The lone male occupant, the driver of the Southbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver of the Northbound was extricated and transported by air ambulance to a hospital with non- life threatening injuries. The young female passenger was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital with minor injuries. The identification of the deceased will not be released until next of kin notification has been made.

Brant and Oxford OPP, Brant and Norfolk EMS, Scotland fire department all attended to assist at this location.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are at the scene continuing with the investigation.

Highway 24 between Oakland Road and Elliott Road will remain closed for several hours.
