(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Two separate vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this past weekend led to suspended drivers being charged.
On January 16, 2015 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 35 near Gray Road. Further investigation indicated that the male driver was suspended from driving.
As a result of the investigation Terry RITTWAGE, 37 years of age, of Kingston was charged with speeding and driving while suspended, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). The vehicle was towed from the scene. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 6, 2015.
On January 17, 2015 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Little Britain Road near Bush Road. Further investigation indicated that the driver was suspended from driving.
As a result of the investigation Kristen SQUIRES, 34 years of age, of Aurora, was charged with speeding and driving while suspended, contrary to the HTA. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 10, 2015.
