On 25 February 2017 at approximately 3:48 pm police were requested to attend the 1300 block of 16 th Street East regarding a two vehicle collision.
The investigation revealed that a 20 year old Allenford male was operating a 2008 Buick travelling west bound in the 1300 block of 16 th Street East. The male stopped at a traffic light with the intention of making a left turn. The male unfortunately drove into the path of an east bound 2010 Dodge Carvan being operated by a 41 year old Owen Sound female.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision however the damage to both vehicles necessitated that they both be towed from the scene.
The 20 year old male was charged with making an unsafe turn under the Highway Traffic Act.
On 25 February 2017 at approximately 4:20 pm the Owen Sound Police were called to yet another two vehicle collision in the 500 block of 2 nd Avenue E.
The investigation revealed that two vehicles were travelling south bound on 2 nd Avenue East. A 2010 Volkswagon Golf driven by a 58 year old Owen Sound female slowed to make a left turn into a private drive when she was rear ended by a 2002 Ford Focus driven by a 17 year old Owen Sound male.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and
were towed from the scene.
The 17 year old male was charged with careless under the Highway Traffic Act.
