(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A 52-year-old driver has been charged with Careless Driving following a commercial motor vehicle crash that took place last week just east of Wingham.
Just before midnight on June 29, 2017 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified of a collision involving a tractor trailer loaded with turkeys.
The subsequent investigation revealed the tractor trailer had just been loaded up at a nearby turkey farm with 1,700 turkeys. The driver then set out for his destination however he made it only about 100 metres down McLean Line when he lost control of his vehicle. He drove off the gravel roadway into the ditch and the truck and trailer came to rest on the passenger side.
The driver, a 52-year-old from Elmira escaped injury however he was charged with Careless Driving.
