Wanted Man Found Hiding In North Line Residence – Name Released

(HURON EAST, ON) – A 41-year-old from Central Huron is in custody and awaits a court appearance this morning following an incident that took place yesterday in Huron East.

Yesterday, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information pertaining to the possible whereabouts of a male that was wanted by Huron OPP. Huron OPP officers were also informed the male suspect was currently breaching his probation sentence and a court recognizance by being at the residence of his estranged spouse.

In the afternoon police responded to the North Line residence in an attempt to make contact with the male that was believed to be in the residence. These attempts proved unsuccessful so officers backed away from the residence and set up containment on the property while specialized units made their way to the scene.

Armed with an entry warrant, members from the West Region Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine entered the residence around 9:00 p.m. and located the wanted male hiding within the residence. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

Shawn ELLIOTT, 41 years of age from Central Huron will be attending bail court in Goderich today to answer to charges of Fail to Comply with Probation Order and Breach of Recognizance.
