(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On September 22, 2014 at 11:00pm an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment was parked in a marked cruiser on Sturgeon Road just north of King Street in the village of Omemee within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
The OPP officer was sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle making notes on another investigation when a southbound pick-up truck sideswiped the cruiser and fled the scene turning right onto westbound King Street.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is described as a pick-up truck, silver in colour, and should have fresh damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The officer was not injured in the collision.
