(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On March 16, 2015 at approximately 7:31 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling Wellington Road 7, north of Wellington Road 10, Mapleton Township. A male driving a 2007 Dodge van was observed travelling northbound well above the posted speed limit and was locked on radar at 112km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Trever MCNORTON age 46 of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 20, 2015 to answer the charge.
