(LEAMINGTON ON) – A 35 year old Windsor man is lucky to be alive today after driving his vehicle into a ditch filled with water last evening.
At approximately 9:30 pm on Monday March 16th, police were called to attend Mersea Road 2 in the Municipality of Leamington in regards to a vehicle that had driven into the ditch. Upon arrival, police found that the vehicle was partially submerged on the driver’s side and was filling with water. The first officer arrived on the scene and held the driver’s head above the water until he was joined by two more officers who were able to remove the driver from the vehicle.
He was transported to hospital where he was admitted to be treated for non life threatening injuries.
The matter is still under investigation and charges are pending.
