Trailer Fire And Attempt Murder Charges

(Millhaven, ON)- On Saturday, May 30th at 12:25 a.m. officers with the Loyalist Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a disturbance at a trailer park located on Bath Road in Millhaven.

Loyalist Township Fire Services attended however the trailer was fully engulfed in flames.

An OPP Canine Unit assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted a search for the suspect and located him approximately 200 metres east of the scene.

Investigation revealed that the accused male had entered the trailer and assaulted a female and a male. Three adults fled the trailer.

The woman was transported to hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injuries.

A forty (45) year-old Kingston man is in custody and will be charged with:‎

– three (3) counts of Attempted Murder

– Arson – Disregard for Human Life,

– Break and Enter with Intent of Committing an Indictable Offence,

– Criminal Harassment,

– Uttering Threats to Cause Death,

– eight (8) counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance, and

– Theft of a Motor Vehicle

The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice Monday.

The Office of the Fire Marshall has been called and is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
