(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 30, 2014, just after 1:00 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Monte Carlo for a violation under the Highway Traffic Act, on Highway 401 westbound, near Communication Road.
The subsequent OPP traffic investigation at roadside revealed that the stopped vehicle had been reported as stolen. Further investigation led to the recovery of stolen licence plates and the driver was also found to be in possession of break in instruments.
As a result, the driver, 30 year old Sinisa ZIVKOVIC, from Essex, ON, has been charged with Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime Under $5000 (x3), and Possession of Break In Instruments, under the Criminal Code of Canada. The driver also faces numerous charges under the Highway Traffic Act, including Careless Driving and Driving While Under Suspension (x2).
He is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court at a later date to answer to the charges.
