TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On Sunday, December 8, 2013, just after midnight, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a 2001 Mazda vehicle on Highway 401 westbound near Harwich Road.

Subsequent investigation at roadside led to the seizure of small amounts of suspected marihuana, cocaine and ecstasy. A 21 year old male, Rodney SMITH, from Milton, ON, has been charged with Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Ecstasy, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The male was also charged with Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The male is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on Thursday, January 16, 2013, to answer to the charges.
