TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Vehicle stops conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lead to numerous charges being laid.

On February 10, 2014 an OPP officer on patrol conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 35 near Pontypool Road that resulted in a speed warning measuring device being seized. The driver, 62 year old Robert LESSARD, of Scarborough was subsequently charged.

On Ski Hill Road a vehicle was stopped and the driver, Catherine JAMES, 45 years of age, of Newtonville, was charged with driving while under suspension. Her vehicle was towed from the scene and will be impounded for 7 days. The accused will appear in court in Lindsay on April 1, 2014.

On Boundary Road a vehicle stop resulted in the driver being charged with driving without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act and with driving with an expired validation permit, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The accused will appear in court in Lindsay on April 1, 2014.
