TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver facing two Highway Traffic Act related charges.

On February 17, 2014 an OPP officer was patrolling on Kawartha Lakes Road 36 near Black School Road when a vehicle travelling at 115 km/h in an 80 km/h zone was observed. Subsequently, the vehicle was stopped. Further investigation indicated that the driver was suspended from driving.

As a result of the investigation Matthew BENGEL, 35 years of age, of Woodville, was charged with speeding and driving while under suspension. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 11, 2014.
