TRAFFIC DELAYS POSSIBLE MONDAY – OPP Advises Motorists To Prepare And Be Patient

(HENVEY INLET, ON) – The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is warning area motorists to be aware of potential traffic delays during their travels along Highway 69 in Mowat Township on Monday October 7, 2013 between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Henvey Inlet / French River #13 First Nation will be conducting an informational Protest on Highway 69 distributing Informational pamphlets. The protest activities may periodically delay or interrupt the normal flow of traffic on area highways and arterial roads. “The protest is scheduled to be between 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.,” advises West Parry Sound OPP detachment commander Staff Sergeant Ron Campbell. “It is to take place along Highway 69 in Mowat Township.”

The OPP’s objective is to maintain a safe flow of traffic and, when delays occur, restore traffic flow in the safest manner possible. The OPP is also working with those who may organize protest events to provide a safe and peaceful opportunity to exercise their lawful rights while minimizing the impact on the traveling public, where possible.

Motorists should check in advance for road advisory information and monitor local media for the latest updates. The OPP appreciates everyone’s cooperation and patience during these occurrences.
