A motor vehicle struck a hydro pole on Bayfield Street between Grove Street and Rose Street. The pole snapped and live wires fell to the roadway. The driver, a 46 year old Orillia man, was arrested for Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving and Possession of Marihuana. He is currently at the police station to provide breach samples. Police anticipate he will be released with a future court date for these offences once sober.
Barrie Police Service will have Bayfield Street between Grove Street and Rose Street closed until further notice to complete the clean-up and repair. It is believed the work will take until the afternoon to complete.
