(LAMBTON, ON) – On Monday July 13, 2015 at about 6:30 p.m. the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the west bound 402 Highway at the 40 Highway (south bound) exit to investigate a single motor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, the OPP discovered that a full size commercial tractor and trailer had been travelling on the 402 Highway in a westerly direction. The tractor and trailer had exited the off ramp for 40 Highway south bound at which time the tractor and trailer flipped onto its side.
At the time of the collision no injuries were reported. The commercial trailer was not carrying hazardous material and there were no dangers imposed upon the environment. It appears as though the tractor and trailer were travelling at a speed that did not enable a safe exit from the 402 Highway. The exit ramp was closed for about seven hours as the trailer had to be off loaded in an attempt to place same into an upright position. As to any potential Highway Traffic Act charges; the collision is still being investigated by the OPP.
