(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On Thursday, February 13, 2014 at approximately 10:19 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a domestic related threats complaint.
Two female victims, who are known to each other, received threats via telephone and text messaging from their common ex-boyfriend, who now resides in the Town of Blue Mountains. While the victims were at the Meaford Detachment speaking with police, the accused had entered one of the victim’s apartment, causing extensive damage to property. Police located and arrested the accused on Sykes Street in Meaford a short time later.
The 26 year old male, who was charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm (2 counts); assault; possessing obscene matter; and break, enter a place – commit indictable offence, remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
