(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint from a motorist travelling south on Highway 11 south on Saturday November 14th, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The caller reported very erratic driving behaviour and expressed a concern for public safety. Police located and were able to stop the vehicle on Highway 11 South just south of Alpine Ranch Road.
Police conducted an investigation and arrested and charged both occupants of the vehicle.
The driver, 25 year-old Tiffany-Ann MACNEIL of Kitchener has been charged with the following:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug CC253(1)(a)
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance CDSA4(1)
Possession of a Prohibited Device CC92(2)
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC354(1)(a)
Fail to Comply with Recognizance CC145(3) X 2
She was held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on November 16th 2015. The accused received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had her vehicle towed and impounded.
The second occupant of the vehicle, 29 year-old Corey WOOD of Kitchener, has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance CDSA 4(1) and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on December 15th, 2015 to answer to the charge.
Many impaired drivers are taken off the road as a result of a call by fellow motorists. Police would like to thank those members of the public that show their concern for public safety and assist in keeping area roads safe by calling 9-1-1 and notifying police when they observe a possibly impaired driver.
